This conviction was the foundation stone for the South Tyrolean Klimahotel Cyprianerhof. Since its foundation in 1988, the philosophy of the family business has been based on sustainability. Long before the buzzword sustainability was on everyone's lips, the Klimahotel was awarded the South Tyrolean environmental seal.

"The careful use of natural resources in all areas is just as much a matter of course for us as the use of local products from local farmers and suppliers for the kitchen", Martin Damian, owner.

Heat energy from forestry wood from the region

The Cyprianerhof has been producing heat energy with a Schmid wood chip heating system since 1999. The reliable and balanced combustion of wood from sustainable and regional forestry as well as the automatic ash removal were convincing arguments for the Schmid firing system even back then.

"I was surprised that the Schmid boiler achieves such good efficiency from different fuels. The automatic ash removal also works excellently," Martin Damian tells us happily. "For these reasons, and knowing that Schmid boilers are technologically ahead of the field, we opted for Schmid again for the replacement and extension building."

New heating center - expansion of capacity

The new building was realized with a second, more powerful boiler, a UTSR-450 visio and a larger Wood chips silo. The silo is now operated with four moving floor bars. Fortunately and in the interests of sustainability, the existing firing system and the two existing moving floor bars were reused. The existing UTSR-240 was brought up to the latest state of the art with automatic boiler tube cleaning, ignition and a control update.

The almost 100 rooms and the pools of the Cyprianerhof are heated_{in a CO2-neutral way}. The energy requirement is supported by a photovoltaic system. In addition, 100% green electricity is generated and used in the E-Werk using the power of water.
