SaveEnergy exhaust gas condenser

The SaveEnergy flue gas condenser is a highly efficient system that recovers the sensible and latent heat from polluted flue gas . The heat from the flue gas is decoupled via injected process water. The sum of all water droplet surfaces forms the heat exchanger. This results in heat exchanger surfaces the size of several football pitches. The water droplets are constantly building up anew. The SaveEnergy-heat exchanger (water droplets) cannot become dirty or corroded. This results in low-maintenance and robust operation and sets the highest standards in terms of availability and durability.

The technology in detail

In the SaveEnergy exhaust gas condenser, the sensible and latent heat is recovered from the flue gas . The heat from the flue gas is decoupled via the injected process water. The surfaces of the many small water droplets act as a mechanical heat exchanger. The heat from the exhaust gases is absorbed by the liquid and transferred to the heat consumer (e.g. return heat network) via a plate heat exchanger. The large heat exchanger surface (the sum of all droplet surfaces) guarantees high efficiency in heat recovery. The flue gas is cooled to 2-3 °C above the temperature of the heat consumer. As there is no mechanical heat exchanger in the flue gas , the SaveEnergy condenser is not susceptible to soiling.

The water condenses from the flue gas as it cools below the dew point. The condensate is pH-neutralized and the solids are removed by the water treatment system. Only the purified excess condensate is fed into the sewage system. This means that the SaveEnergy condenser does not require fresh water.

By intensively injecting process water into the flue gas , the SaveEnergy exhaust gas condenser takes on the function of an exhaust gas scrubber. The coarse dust particles in the flue gas are bound to the surface of the liquid by inertial forces. These are transported away to the water treatment system via the process water. The pre-cleaning of the exhaust gas from the coarse dust particles is crucial for the efficient functioning of the SaveEnergy wet electrostatic precipitator, which separates the small dust particles from the flue gas downstream.
